Would you like to have fun while supporting an amazing cause? Are you looking for a way to give back to the community? Here is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our elder friends and neighbors!
In preparation for the Ladin Subaru 26th Annual Love Run on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in Westlake Village, Senior Concerns is seeking individual volunteers and volunteer groups from local employers, service groups, other non-profits and faith based organizations to work in a variety of key race day roles. Volunteer groups can assist with race day check in and packet pick up, work as course monitors, staff water stations along the race routes, assist with the race expo, and fill many other important roles that help make the event a success.
Now in its 26th year and with Ladin Subaru as our Title Sponsor, the Love Run is recognized as one of the premier races in the Conejo Valley. The popular event features a Half Marathon, which will be run on a course that is part street and part trail. Runners and walkers can also participate in a 10K, 5K or one-mile fun run. It is the perfect event for the entire family. The Finish Line Festival is also expected to attract a large and diverse group of vendors who will be handing out samples and sharing information with a wellness-centered theme. More than 2,500 people from the community are expected to attend.
As a volunteer, you’ll be part of a legendary community event that directly benefits seniors, plus you’ll get front row spectator seats to one of Conejo Valley’s premier races, a cool volunteer shirt, and a delicious and free pancake breakfast!
This annual event supports Senior Concerns’ Meals On Wheels Program, which helps ensure that homebound seniors do not go without food. Volunteers deliver two nutritious, freshly-prepared meals 365 days a year. In 2018, volunteers delivered more than 32,000 meals in Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park.
