QUESTION: The senior center in Thousand Oaks usually has a spring community garage sale. Do you know if it is planned again for this year?
ANSWER: Yes, it is. The ninth annual community garage sale is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9 in the parking lot at Goebel Adult Community Center, 1385 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.
Past events have had 40 to 60 vendors selling almost everything you can think of. So if you are in a buying need, put this date on your calendar.
On the other hand, if you are tired of looking at your overfilled garage or don’t have space to hold our own garage sale, sign up to be one of the vendors.
Spaces are $30, and applications are available at the Goebel Center. Tables are also available for rent at $5 each or you can provide your own.
There is a limit of one table per space.
Here is a chance to do your spring cleaning and make a few dollars doing it. Don’t wait too long, as spaces do go quickly.

QUESTION: Do you have any information on the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute classes for spring semester?
ANSWER: The catalog for the late spring classes just arrived. Classes will be held from March through May, and registration is in progress.
Classes will be available at seven locations throughout the area.
Classes at CSU Channel Islands’ John Spoor Broome Library will include: “Drought Defense-Native Plants,” “Building Blocks of Life,” “Cities of India,” “Existentialism,” “California Environmental Issues,” “Conflict Management,” “The Arctic, Part 2,” “Art of Impressionists,” “Dilemmas in Political Thinking,” “Art and Architecture of Etruscans,” “Neuroplasticity,” “Guitarists of the 20th Century,” “American Popular Music” and “How Things Work.”
At the Agoura Hills Recreation and Event Center, 29900 Ladyface Circle, there will be three offerings: “Rock ’n’ Roll,” “Politics of the Golden State” and “Truth or Lies.”
The Thousand Oaks CSUCI campus at 501 Marin St. will host “Small Towns & Suburbia in Literature.”
Leisure Village in Camarillo will host “Opera and Politics.”
Ventura Adult and Continuing Education, 5200 Valentine Road in Ventura, will present “Movies, Murder, Medicine,” “Sustainable Energy Future” and “Movies about Movies.”
The Ventura Avenue Adult Center, 550 N. Ventura Ave. in Ventura, will host “OMG-Part 2” and “History Portraiture Art.”
The Little House in Ojai, 111 W. Santa Ana St.., will host “Cities of India” and “Arctic-Part 2.”
