Maureen Symonds brings an intuitive ability and finely honed skills for communicating with individuals experiencing senior dementias and other frailties. Her nursing background provides a basis for serving as a valuable resource of knowledge for caregivers and family members.
Coming to the USA with her family in 1980 Maureen volunteered with many social service agencies before joining Senior Concerns in 1997 as a program assistant. In 2002 she was appointed Director of the Adult Day Program.
With many hours of continuing education and training in the field of dementia and related disorders Maureen serves as a support group facilitator for caregivers of the elderly. Her special talent is the ability to communicate with people with dementia and dealing with families who are in crisis.
Maureen is currently on the Board of California Association for Adult Day Services.
